Ecosystem Design and Strategic Planning Workshop

GMCA, in partnership with the Fourth Sector Group Bhutan, recently convened the Ecosystem Design and Strategic Planning Workshop in Thimphu, bringing together participants from institutions, businesses, government, civil society and communities to explore how Bhutan can strengthen its emerging for-benefit ecosystem.

The workshop began by looking at the ecosystem as it exists today, mapping the strengths, contributions and gaps across different actors. Participants then explored the priorities and initiatives that could shape the ecosystem over the next twelve months to twenty four months.

At the heart of the discussion was a simple but important question: how can different actors work together to create economic value while contributing to wider social and national wellbeing?

The conversations reinforced the importance of collaboration across institutions, sectors, and communities, and of creating an ecosystem where different forms of value can reinforce one another.

The workshop marks the beginning of a longer process of collaboration, with the aim of turning shared insights into a practical agenda for the year ahead.
